About the author

Kevin Beaver, CISSP, is an independent information security consultant, keynote speaker, and writer with nearly four decades in IT with most of that focused on security. He founded his Atlanta-based security consulting company Principle Logic, LLC in 2001. Kevin has written or co-written 12 books, including the best-selling Hacking For Dummies (8th edition, translated into 9 languages), and published 1,400+ security articles for outlets such as TechTarget, IBM, Rapid7, and Ziff Davis. He has served as a presenter and panelist at hundreds of events for groups such as TechTarget, Gartner, RSA, ISACA, Evanta, ALAS, EC-Council, and TribalNet. Kevin’s expertise has been featured on CNN and in the Wall Street Journal. He is also a longtime faculty member with IANS, advising leading global enterprises on practical risk management. Kevin holds technical and business degrees from Southern College of Technology and Georgia Tech, respectively.
